Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! And what a wonderful year it has been. I am so thankful for my amazing husband, my incredible family, my wonderful family in-law, and my great friends. Oh, and I can't forget my fur babies! I am blessed beyond measure and don't ever want to take that for granted. I hope 2010 brings as much joy as 2009 has and I pray that I can grow ever closer to the Lord and glorify him in ALL that I do this next year! He is worthy of ALL the praise, ALL the time!

Merry Christmas!!
I can't believe there are only 3 days left until Christmas...this is my favorite time of year! Of course, Christmas will be a little different this year as it's our first married Christmas. It's exciting though that Chris and I can start our own Christmas traditions that we will someday carry on with our own family. It's hard for me not to be a little sad about missing my family's traditions- Christmas eve service followed by delicious chowder, stocking first thing in the morning followed by breakfast cooked by my mom and grandmother (yummm...pecan rolls!), and then our big family get together! But, Christmas will go on at home without me and I'll have next year to look forward to! We're going to have a great Christmas! I'm really looking forward to spending the morning with just our little family- our course the dogs get presents too! It will be nice to be a part of new traditions :)
"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." ~Luke 2:9-12

grace
Chris and I had the absolute pleasure of spending a week with my brother a few weeks ago. He inspires me. He reminded me that trials and tribulations come into our life inevitably but the Lord overcomes all. If we are willing to trust and give up control we will find true freedom. Prayer really is powerful- sometimes it's the only thing we can do. But, the comforting thing is that the Lord already had everything worked out. I've been reading James and it can be heavy stuff sometimes but here's what I read this morning- a reminder that God's grace covers all if we just submit to Him.
"Come near to God and he will come near to you....Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." -James 4:8a, 10

Our first 6 months...in pictures
Our first blog
Well, I thought I'd try out this blogging stuff. Chris might think I'm silly but it seems like a great way to stay in touch with family (if anyone actually reads this!). So, Chris and I got married 6 months ago and currently live in Clemmons, NC...a VERY long way from my northern roots. But, I do love the south and am constantly told I now have a southern accent! I miss my family dearly but know that right now Chris and I are right in the middle of God's will and that's what matters most. I love our little family- me, Chris, and our two dogs, Fitz and Bailey.
