My husband's step-sister is getting married next weekend and I had the pleasure of making the cake for her bachelorette party. Her sister, who was surprising her with the cake, wanted a hot pink and black zebra striped cake. When all was said and done, it was probably my favorite cake I have made so far! Here are a few pictures:

Weekend-ing
Why do the weekends go by so fast?? I suggest that we have have a 2 day work week and a 5 day weekend...who agrees with me?? But anyways, we had a wonderful weekend, but how could you not with such gorgeous weather!
In my attempts to get a tan, I spent the day with Chris at his soon to open nursery on Saturday (click here if you're interested!). It's looking SO good and we're getting so excited! As for my tanning attempt? Yea, don't ask.
Also, how could you have a bad weekend when DUKE wins their playoff games?? I nearly had a heart attack during their game yesterday but they pulled it out.
Another championship this year? YES PLEASE!
I also spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen this weekend. I have quite a few cakes coming up that I'm trying to work ahead on: two birthday cakes, a wedding cake, a bachelorette party cake, and some cake squares. So, this weekend I baked a total of 10 layers of cake. My KitchenAid needs a break!
Is it Friday yet??

sneak peak!!
So most of you know that my husband Chris owns a landscaping company. And, since I've known him, his dream has always been to open a retail nursery. He has been growing and selling plants wholesale for the past 6 years but wanted to actually be open to the public. So, this was our 5 year plan...but the opportunity arose this year to open so on April 1st, Wrights Nursery will have it's GRAND OPENING! We have been working hard for the past few months to get things ready. At the nursery we will have annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, shrubs, pottery, potting mixes, and miscellaneous other gardening stuff. So, here's a sneak peak of a few things we'll have other than the plants...
Just FYI- the address of the nursery is 2156 Lewisville-Clemmons Rd. in Clemmons. If you are reading this and didn't receive a 20% off coupon in the mail (and live in NC), let me know and I'll get one to you! For more info, you can visit Chris' website here. Remember, grand opening weekend is April 1st and 2nd. I hope to see you all there!
